Miscellany Monday

lowercase letters

My weekend.

Well, first of all I'm fighting off this stinkin' summer cold which makes life no fun. No fun at all.

Even though I felt like dirt I was able to get together with a friend from high school for coffee on Saturday morning. I love getting together with her because it's like no time has passed. There's never a pause in the conversation. I should've taken a picture. But, I didn't. Oh well. There's always next time.

I spent the rest of the day on Saturday cutting fabric for new zipper pouches. Check out some of my new fabrics

Work in progress - A little blurry.

Here are a few of the new pouches I listed in the shop - Poppy and Pippa

I felt like crap but, got a lot done. I even had a chance to enjoy some sunshine and reading. It was a bummer that I didn't get to spend Father's day with my family because I didn't want to get anyone sick so, it was just Bill and I (and Whidbey and Willa).

Oh, by the way, there's only two weeks until my one week vacation!! It really can't come soon enough. Just glad that I'm sick now instead of then.

Hope you all had a great Father's Day weekend!
Enjoy your Day!

Miscellany Monday

I'm linking up with Carissa today to write random.

lowercase letters

I have been off of my blogging game for the past few weeks. A lot has been going on and in all honesty, I just didn't feel like blogging. Well, lucky for you, I'm back!

Here's a snippet of the last couple of weeks.

My best friend had a baby girl - Elodie
Whidbey got a little sister - Willa.
Sophie turned 3! She's a bada$$ princess with a sword.
Had a booth at the Junk Market.

I'll fill you on the rest...later.

Enjoy your day!

Miscellany Monday

A photo modge podge of this and that today.

One small thing that makes me happy and oh so satisfied is when a hard boiled egg peels easily.

I love that the temperature is finally above freezing. In fact, it even got up to about 75 this weekend. The only thing I hate about spring is { D I R T }. Giant piles of dirty snow melting. Yuck!

Check out this HUGE pile of dirty snow.

I worked all weekend on new product for the Junk Market coming up on June 1st.
Name badge reels.

One of my favorite things to do lately is creating cute hair clips sets for Birthday party favors.

And, last but not least, I will be participating in :: Blog every day in May - a challenge :: with Jenni from Story of my Life (one of my favorite blogs to read). Even on the weekends. This is definitely a challenge for me. I struggle to blog four days a week. We'll see how it goes. Jenni has given a topic to blog about each day for the month of May.

Miscellany Monday

Random.

1. BRRRRRR!
Yes, that does in fact say -44 degrees wind chill!! Redonk!

2. Bill's show on Friday night was so fun! It started with me sitting behind the tallest guy in the place
So, this was my view. Luckily we could just scoot our chairs over for a better view.

3. I even did something with my hair on Friday night. Anyone who sees me often knows that my hair is usually in a plain old ponytail. Well, check this out - I curled it and did something real fancy with some bobby pins. Ummm, not as cool as I thought it was going to be (and a little off center) but, it's progress.

3. With our new eating lifestyle we eat delicious food like this... REAL food!

4. I've been working away every single free minute on the Unglued show that's coming up. I believe I made over a hundred of these rosie blooms this weekend!
Plus, filled a bunch of orders. I love my little business!

Enjoy your day...and if you're from around here - STAY WARM!

Miscellany Monday

Random.

1.
I love this bright and happy fabric.
I used it to create some rosie blooms and some scrappy flowers for the Unglued Craft Fest on February 22nd and 23rd. It's my second "fest." I'm really excited for this one because it's going to be completely different from the Junk Market I did in the fall and hope to do again in the summer!

2.
We were supposed to get a winter storm on Friday and Saturday. I was so excited.
It was icy and windy with a little snow. Not so much a storm. I was bummed.
My Christmas tree on the deck looked so pretty covered in snow. And, yes, the Christmas tree is still up on the deck and so pretty with the lights.

3.
Some of you asked about what I've been eating lately.
1. Key lime greek yogurt with chia seeds.
2. Oatmeal for breakfast is so much better in a pretty mug from Anthropologie.
3. Strawberries and cottage cheese and a salad with olives, spinach, etc.
4. My favorite snack - apple, cheese, almonds and walnuts.

4.
My hubby (in the hat) and his friend/music partner were rehearsing for an upcoming show and had a friend shoot this video. You can view it here.

Miscellany Monday

Randomness.

1. Last week my best friend found out that she's having a baby GIRL! I'm so excited. We found out when they cut into the cake. They are spending the holidays in France - I can't wait to see the fun things she brings back for the baby girl.

2. *Updated Shop*
Order today and use the coupon code holiday30 to get 30% off your entire order and get it before Christmas! (Domestic orders only) Go here
3. I work with children about the age of the children senselessly killed last week. What happened at that elementary school can make you lose hope for the good in the world.

Miscellany Monday

What a GREAT weekend!

Seriously, there is nothing better than a couple of days with no plans.

On Saturday Bill and I laid around watching TV for most of the day.
We finished the latest season of Damages.
So. Good.

Saturday afternoon my Sister, Sophie and I went to Ulta and Hobby Lobby for a little girl time. I purchased my first sulfate-free shampoo.
I had a coupon for 20% off my entire purchase for being a valued customer! Plus the Biolage was buy two get one free! I also purchased the bareMinerals - Mineral Veil SPF 15 - in the compact.
I've been using the Ready Foundation for about two months and love it! I'm so glad my favorite products come in compacts now. I've been using bareMinerals for about 8 years and wouldn't use any other foundation / powder than this.
With the compact you just tap the brush on the foundation and with long strokes apply it - rather than the swirl technique of the loose power.  The brush that is recommended for use with the foundation is called the Precision Face Brush - I purchased it and it works fantastic!

I love Netflix. I stream it on the AppleTV. On Sunday, while Bill was working I was watching Crossing Jordan while working on Poppy and Pippa products and doing laundry.

I was able to create, take photos of new items, and list them on Poppyandpippa.com - Check it out below -  I added back the hair tie color choice option sets!

I even had a chance to paint my nails.

Have a great monday!

Miscellany Monday

A little randomness.

On Friday my hubby and I celebrated our 10 year anniversary.
We went out for dinner at a wonderful restaurant. I had Lobster Ravioli with Sweet Potato Cheesecake and Bill had the Fillet. It was wonderful.
It was beautiful weather all weekend. Perfect for a "non-professional" photo shoot with my niece and nephews.
Bill and I enjoyed a very lazy weekend. We hung out on the couch watching season 7 of Weeds. Yesterday we watched the Redbull Stratos - Felix Baumgarter jumped from 128,000 feet - roughly 24 miles above the earth. More than twice the height that commercial airlines fly. If you missed it - you need to check out it!

Miscellany Monday

Random thoughts from the last week.

My favorite day of the entire year is the first day it snows. Yes, I love snow!! Last week we had the second earliest first snow for the year on record. The earliest was two days earlier. We almost had a record. Bummer. This is my car...before I brushed it off.
Sorry for the poor picture - it was taken in the dark (6:15 am)

///
Bill and I left the snow behind in Fargo and made our way to the Minneapolis/St. Paul area for three days.

We saw Louis CK - Bill loves him!

On Friday we slept in and ate a late breakfast at the hotel. It was good we slept in because we ended up walking about 6 miles (according to Bill's Fit Bit) through Ikea and the Mall of America. We were exhausted at the end of the day. But made some great purchases at Ikea!

On Saturday Bill managed to reserve an iPhone 5 so, I got to lounge at the hotel while he ventured to the mall. Then, we went to visit his brother and wife as well as two of our nephews. It was nice to catch up for a bit. They wouldn't let me take a "normal" picture of them - so here are Dylan (Zombie) and Cody (Clone). Adorable, aren't they? Hehe.

After visiting for a bit we made our way to the outlet mall. I scored some great deals - like 40% off  EVERYTHING at Old Navy. Seriously. It was so awesome! Then we left for home and arrived about 10:00 on Saturday night to a cat who had A LOT of energy!
